Only 15 percent of agencies using GSA's Networx contracts had chosen a telecommunications carrier by the Sept. 30 deadline, Federal Times reports.
Eighty-five percent of the 135 agencies installing new telecommunications systems under the General Services Administration’s Networx contracts missed the Sept. 30 deadline for choosing vendors, potentially forfeiting million of dollars in transition funding, Federal Times reports.
“We have a pretty good challenge ahead of us,” said Karl Krumbholz, director of GSA’s Network Services Programs. “I’d like to be optimistic and say we’re really going to start moving out here…but I don’t have evidence to suggest everything is going to take off.”
