Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.), who has worked on cybersecurity issues,
has left the Homeland Security Committee to return to the House Armed
Services Committee.
Langevin took a leave of absence from the
Homeland Security Committee, but will continue to serve on the
Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, his office said in a
statement. Langevin had taken a leave of absence from the House Armed
Services Committee in 2007, according to the statement.
During
the last Congress, Langevin served as chairman of the Homeland Security
Committee’s Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity and Science and Technology
Subcommittee, where he drew greater attention to cyberterrorism issues.
“I am proud of my subcommittee’s accomplishments, especially in the area of cybersecurity,” Langevin said.
