Hoffman oversaw 22 major information technology projects and, in the process, reduced the time required for internal reviews by 40 percent.
She also led a program to standardize IT portfolio management across the department, was responsible for developing the department’s functional area architectures and is a key player in managing the department’s $6.5 billion annual budget.
“Hoffman’s leadership style is innovative, participative and proactive,” said Robert Carey, the department's chief information officer. “She is skilled in achieving consensus from widely disparate viewpoints and is unafraid of tackling tough challenges or assuming responsibility for complex projects."
