Kundra plays well in the land down under
An Australian blogger hopes his country's politicians are paying attention to developments in the Obama administration.
Even the Australians took note of Vivek Kundra's ascent.
Glenn Irvine, a blogger for the Australia-based Collaborative View, picked up on the story by the Washington Post, noting in particular Kundra's affinity for social media.
The role of social networking in President Barack Obama's campaign "will no doubt undergo some significant analysis by political organisations around the globe for the major affect they had in the campaign," Irvine writes.
Australian politicians "could learn a lesson or two" from the Obama team, according to Irvine. The "information and communications technology" industry would be happy if they did.
"I feel President Obama has shown some modern thinking and leadership that the [information and communications technology] industry can take heart in. The very creation of Federal CIO and CTO positions highlights the critical importance of ICT in our current World. Australia’s politicians should seriously take note."
