I've spent the past two work days attempting -- to no avail -- to access documents on an upcoming procurement on the Hanscom [Mass.] Air Force Base Electronic Request for Proposals Bulletin Board, known as HERBB, which the Air Force Electronic Systems Center operates.
Repeated attempts to access HERBB produced an error message more cryptic than anything generated by a Microsoft program: "An error occurred while processing your request. Reference #97.2842d33f.1242674297.307d2ba7."
Since I had no idea what "Reference #97.2842d33f.1242674297.307d2ba7" meant, I called up Chuck Paone, a Hanscom public affairs officer, for some help. The affable Paone assured me that HERBB had not singled me out for special treatment and that there has been a problem in accessing HERBB over the past couple of workdays. He assured me the boffins at Hanscom are aware of the problem and plan to fix it quickly.
