GSA splits Citizen Services, hires Interior's Bhagowalia

The General Services Administration created a new office to identify and apply new technologies to government operations and service delivery, an agency spokeswoman said today.

To help with the effort, GSA has hired the Interior Department's chief information officer.

GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications has split. Now there is the Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies and the Office of Communications and Marketing, she said.

Dave McClure will be head of the new office. McClure currently is GSA’s associate administrator citizen services and communications.

Within McClure’s new office, Sanjeev “Sonny” Bhagowalia, Interior’s current CIO, will lead of the Office of Innovative Technologies, she said.

Bhagowalia starts May 24 as deputy associate administrator for innovative technologies, she said.
