Wanted: A few good IT pros
A survey of IT managers and recruiters by the Dice Report finds that 71 percent expect to hire more staff members in the second half of the year than they did in the first, and 30 percent said salaries for new hires are on the rise.
The information technology job market could be heating up again, according to a recent survey by the Dice Report. Dice, which focuses on professional communities, surveyed 600 technology hiring managers and recruiters in May, and found that 71 percent of them expect to hire more staff members in the second half of the year than they did in the first. And 30 percent said salaries for new hires are on the rise. Other responses indicated a shift in the supply-and-demand balance for information technology workers – 72 percent said they expect no layoffs in the second half of the year, while 44 percent expect resignations from staff members, presumably because they’ll be taking other jobs.
