A global survey by Unisys and IDC finds rapid growth in the use of smart phones and special networking applications on the job.
Government agencies have grappled with how best to incorporate smart phones and social networking applications into the enterprise — in addition to deciding whether to incorporate them at all. But as younger employees enter the agencies' workforce, it could be helpful to know how they expect to work.
Unisys and IDC recently released the results of a survey that drew 2,820 responses from enterprises with 500 or more employees in 10 countries on the use of mobile devices and applications. Among other things, the results project rapid growth in use of three core technologies during the next three years.
