Navy Net Ops Heavy on Policy Folks
In the race to remain au courant with al things cyber, the Navy earlier this year shuffled off just under 200 folks from its NETWARCOM operation in Little Creek, VA to the new Fleet Cyber Command, Ft. Meade, Md.
The primary mission of the sailors transferred to Ft. Meade is policy, while the 400 folks left behind at NETWARCOM are supposed to continue to operate Navy networks, even though they are now down by 200 people.
I'm bad at math, but this looks like a rough ratio of one policy guy or gal to every two operators.
This makes sense when you know the Navy has more admirals than ships.
