SPAWAR Buffs Up Submarine Program Office
I don't know if I follow this exactly. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center wants us all to know that it has changed the name of its Submarine Integration Program (PMW 770) Office to the Undersea Integration Program Office as part of an overall Navy mission to "achieve Information Dominance."
SPAWAR said the name change reflects an overall Navy use of manned and unmanned systems, and PMW 770 is assisting in delivering an unmanned architecture to the Navy.
The new undersea office will now deliver communications system to both submarines and unmanned underwater systems, SPAWAR said.
I wonder how many signs SPAWAR will have to change at its San Diego HQ, and whether this can be done in-house or will require a contract.
