It's Official: Lt. Gen Susan Lawrence is Army CIO
The Army said Lt. Gen. Susan Lawrence took over yesterday as chief information officer, following Senate confirmation of her promotion Wednesday.
Lawrence, who will oversee a $10 billion annual information technology budget, said in a statement that she will focus on upgrading the service's global network, which she called the Army's top modernization effort.
The Army CIO webmaster wasted no time in updating the service's website, which today features a photo of Lawrence.
As I have said before, Lawrence is way cool and look forward to talking with her during a press briefing promised in the next couple of weeks.
