Hubris and Humility

With a government shutdown looming, many of our elected officials seem to have a lot of the former and little of the latter.

I as I have learned, hubris often has a painful payback. So maybe before it's too late, humility might be a good idea.

The Prayer of Saint Francis serves as a good guide for these times:

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.
