Merit Principles On the Go

Ever wanted to access the government's merit systems principles on the go? The Merit Systems Protection Board on Tuesday announced a new application for Apple's iPhone and Google's Android smartphones.

The new app allows users to access the latest MSPB decisions, weekly case reports, studies, newsletters and press releases. The app also allows users to search decisions, review merit systems principles, "like" or "favorite" documents for reference, share documents using social media websites like Twitter and Facebook and follow MSPB's Twitter feed (@USMSPB).

"Our mobile apps further demonstrate MSPB's commitment to transparency and outreach, making the agency, its processes, and its products available to our constituencies wherever they are -- including on their smartphones," said MSPB Chairman Susan Tsui Grundmann. "This isn't the end of the road for us in terms of using technology and content, so please continue to give us your feedback."

The iPhone version of the app also includes a comment feature that enables users to comment on documents, while the Android version integrates with e-readers like iBooks to store documents on a user's bookshelf for reading later.
