Don't Bother Asking About the Navy's NGEN Proposal Request
The folks out at Space and Naval Warfare Center headquarters in San Diego sent me a press release Monday announcing the service's release of a draft request for proposals for the network and enterprise services portion of its massive Next Generation Enterprise Network procurement.
But it turns out that to read the draft RFP you must first sign a non-disclosure agreement. Since I'm in the disclosure business and not in the widget and gizmo industry, I can't even begin to comprehend why SPAWAR bothered to send out a press release on information it will not share.
NGEN is an unclassified procurement, but evidently the RFP contains sensitive information available only to folks issued the SPAWAR equivalent of an Ovaltine Secret Decoder Ring.
