NIST appoints new director of IT lab
The lab’s work includes development of cybersecurity standards and guidelines for federal agencies.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology on Tuesday announced that Charles (Chuck) H. Romine is the new director of the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL),
ITL develops standards, measurements, and testing for interoperability, security, usability and reliability of information systems – most notably, NIST’s cybersecurity standards and guidelines for federal agencies.
Romine, who joined NIST in 2009, most recently was the acting associate director for NIST laboratory programs. Prior to that, Romine served as the senior policy advisor to the NIST director and as the associate director for program implementation within ITL.
