The former Defense Secretary calls for Congress members to learn to compromise.
Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Washington politicians have "oversized egos and undersized backbones" in a speech, reports Federal Times.
Gates, who retired in June, was speaking at an Atlantic Council event on Tuesday honoring former national security adviser Brent Scowcroft. Gates criticized Congress for its inability to create bipartisan policies, strategies and budgets, citing the need to compromise and find a "moderate center."
