St. Patrick's Day Race in Afghanistan

Back in my younger days, I took celebration of St. Patrick's Day seriously and carefully plotted out a day- and nightlong Manhattan Irish pub crawl.

I accomplished it by walking, and certainly never contemplated any exercise more strenuous than building my elbow.

Air Force Central Command, however, thinks a run is a dandy way to celebrate the day and is seeking commercial sponsors willing to provided water bottles, hats, towels and T-shirts for the celebration in March.

This event sounds like a depressingly healthy way to spend St. Paddy's day.
