Kundra joins Salesforce.com
Former federal CIO joins CRM firm.
Former federal CIO Viviek Kundra has joined vendor Salesforce.com, an enterprise cloud-computing vendor, as executive vice president of emerging markets, according to a company announcement. Kundra's first day was Monday, Jan. 16, according to his Facebook page.
Kundra, whom President Barack Obama appointed as the first federal CIO -- a position now held by Steven VanRoekel -- created the government's cloud-first policy, among other accomplishments.
“Vivek Kundra is an amazing technology visionary who opened the eyes of millions to the transformational power of cloud computing,” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, in a statement announcing Kundra's hiring.
