The work: Championing efforts to encourage young people to enter the fields of cybersecurity, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The impact: Mills led an effort to increase the number of young people participating in the CyberPatriot competition, which Northrop Grumman sponsors. In 2011, 600 teams representing 48 states took part, triple the number in 2010.
The nuts and bolts: Mills also steered Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector through a challenging market environment, leading to a number of significant contracts in defense, homeland security, and state and local government.
