The work: Training grassroots organizations worldwide and building their digital capacity through highly interactive TechCamp meetings.

The impact: The events have empowered nongovernmental organizations to adopt technological approaches to issues related to the environment, disaster response, economic opportunity and democracy.

The nuts and bolts: Dickover organized and executed five TechCamps and generated outside funding for most of them. The events have led to innovative solutions, and the TechCamp in Chisinau, Moldova, in particular prompted the World Bank’s open-government team to recommend that countries start with a TechCamp to generate interest before launching an open-government initiative.
