Army Plans 'Green Convoy' Demo
The Army wants to cut fuel usage by its tactical vehicle fleet by 20 percent to 40 percent over the next five years through the use of hybrid or more efficient vehicles, and the service said it plans to demonstrate its progress with a "Green Warrior Convoy."
The convoy will stop at schools and communities along the way to Washington next year, to demonstrate science and technology developed at the Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center in Warren, Mich. From fuel cells to hybrid systems to battery technologies to alternative fuels, the Army said the convoy will highlight its advanced vehicle power.
I would like to put this on my calendar, but the Army did not provide start and end dates.
