Gwynne Kostin to lead new innovation center in digital strategy
Gwynne Kostin will take on a key role in the new innovation center created under Federal CIO Steve VanRoekel's digital strategy.
General Services Administration mobile expert Gwynne Kostin will be in charge of the new Digital Services Innovation Center described in the federal digital strategy released on May 23.
Kostin's appointment was originally reported in an article by FedScoop. Kostin confirmed the new position in a Twitter message from her @gwynnek account on May 23.
The innovation center will be based at GSA and will work on shared solutions for content management, Application Programming Interfaces and mobile services. The center will be advised by a new Digital Services Advisory Group.
Kostin previously was director of mobile for the GSA Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies. Under her watch, federal agencies and public, private and volunteer developers have created more than 100 mobile-enabled federal websites and mobile native applications for Apple and Android devices using federal data. The mobile services programs are all available for free to citizens at USA.gov's Mobile Apps Gallery.
