Memorial Day? That’s About Vacation

Memorial Day started out as a way to honor fallen soldiers, but nowadays it’s just another three-day weekend. A travel website reminded me to, “Fire up the grill, pour some drinks and revel in the start of summer. Celebrate Memorial Day from the hottest spots in the country and abroad.”

I’m sure I will continue to be bombarded with Memorial Day pitches over the next two weeks that have nothing to do with the orginal intent of the most solemn day of the year.
