Marines to Buy WinZip Instead of Using Free Version
It’s unclear why the service wouldn’t want the free software.
The Marine Corps has a contract out to buy WinZip, a utility used to compress, decompress and encrypt computer files.
Since this available as free software, I have a hard time figuring out why the Marines want to buy it.
But since I only was a Marine corporal, this decision could be well above my pay grade.
