No Surprise: Hiring Vets Is a Good Idea
Survey shows veterans help companies’ bottom lines.
That’s what the Center for a New American Security reported Monday, based on a survey of representatives from 69 major companies, who said vets display leadership and teamwork skills, character, structure and discipline, expertise, effectiveness and loyalty.
This in turn goes to the bottom line: hiring a vet is not an altruistic exercise but is good for business, the report said.
Plus, based on my experience, we also are good at folding clothes neatly, can walk beyond the point an average civilian would drop, and are great folks to have along on a camping trip.
