Not an app for that? One moment.

The Army is teaching its personnel how to write their own apps, reports Henry Kenyon at GCN.com.

The program is through the Army Mobile Applications Branch, which began as part of the Connecting Soldiers to Digital Applications (CSDA) program in 2010.

"When the CSDA was launched, it was thought that mobile applications were easy to write, based on the success of commercial ventures such as Apple’s App Store," Kenyon writes, citing Lt. Col. Gregory Motes, chief of the Mobile Applications Branch at Fort Gordon, Ga.

The Mobile Applications Branch has now written 90 apps that have been downloaded nearly 1.4 million times, Motes said.
