Tech acquisition aims to boost geospatial intelligence offerings

TerraGo Technologies, which develops software for sharing and organizing geospatial imagery and intelligence, acquired Geosemble Technologies for an undisclosed sum in a bid to boost its product lines, the company announced Wednesday.

Both companies have been backed by CIA venture capital wing In-Q-Tel.

Atlanta-based TerraGo makes programs for the defense and intelligence community as well as government and public safety agencies to help them interact with complex maps and images. Geosemble, based in Manhattan Beach, Calif., a spinoff from the University of Southern California, makes software that integrates information into satellite imagery and maps.

“The combined companies’ solutions will now enable users to selectively discover relevant spatial content; compose dynamic, interactive geospatial intelligence applications and reports; and collaborate in online and disconnected environments,” according to the announcement.
