DIA Needs Some High Priced IT Consultants

The Defense Intelligence Agency plans to hire what it refers to as “senior level” information technology consultants through a contract its values at $60 million -- $15 million a year for four years.

These consultants, all of whom should hold Top Secret/Sensitive compartmented information clearances, will help DIA achieve “high operational quality and value in information technology operations to support warfighters, policymakers, analysts, and other members of the Defense and Intelligence Communities.”

DIA lists a variety of tasks these consultants will perform, with strategic communications and marketing topping the list.

These do not seem like IT skills and I am more than curious about why DIA needs some top secret marketing help that will cost it $1,250,000 a month in at time of tight budgets.
