Navy Offers Cyber Scholarships
Military and civilian personnel can get bucks for advanced study.
The Navy is now offering scholarships to military and civilian personnel interested in pursuing or furthering their IT or cybersecurity careers and education.
The Information Assurance Scholarship Program is designed to increase the number of qualified personnel entering the information assurance and information technology fields within the department, Defense officials said last week. The scholarships also are an attempt to effectively retain military and civilian cybersecurity and IT personnel.
The scholarships are available to military personnel and Defense civilian employees who pursue a master’s or doctorate degree at several participating institutions, including the National Defense University in Washington and the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. Employees selected for the program receive scholarships for tuition, books and fees in exchange for a service payback.
