Google creates a one-stop job hub for veterans
The site will offer a range of employment resources.
Google on Wednesday launched a comprehensive job site for vets and spouses to connect with employers. Dubbed VetNet, the site is intended to make employment searches easier.
Founding partners on the site include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its Hiring Our Heroes program; the Institute for Veterans and Military Families; and Hire Our Heroes USA.
Andy Berndt of Google’s Creative Lab said in a blog post that VetNet will “offer a full spectrum of employment resources for members of the community. Whether starting a job search from scratch, looking for mentors in a specific industry or starting a business, transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses will be able to connect with career services, job opportunities and each other.”
I like this idea so much, I will not even complain that any vet who wants to use it has to sign on to Google+, which I avoid due to privacy concerns.
