GAO launches site for key issues
Access GAO audits and other information organized by more than 50 specific issue areas at the Key Issues website.
The Government Accountability Office has launched a new resource to help new members of Congress and other interested parties access GAO’s work on a range of critical issues.
The GAO’s Key Issues website, unveiled on Jan. 7, aggregates GAO audits and other information into more than 50 specific issue areas, including IT systems modernization, cybersecurity, federal telework and leadership capacity. Each area highlights significant GAO reports and other relevant content, including podcasts and videos, along with contact information for GAO subject area experts, according to the GAO.
“Following each election cycle, GAO provides information resources for the incoming Congress,” said Gene L. Dorado, Comptroller General of the United States and head of GAO. “This new section of our website is intended to provide members and their staff, as well as the public, with a good overview of key policy issues across government. Our intent is to help make the transition to the 113th Congress as informed and smooth as possible.”
The site includes social media buttons to facilitate link-sharing, and readers can submit suggestions for key issues to KeyIssues@gao.gov.
