TIBCO CEO Vivek Ranadivé knows the evolution of data better than anyone. Here's where he thinks it's moving next.
Vivek Ranadivé isn't your standard Silicon Valley CEO. He's been dubbed "the most interesting man in the world," Malcolm Gladwell has a near obsession with him, and he is the proud owner of the NBA's Sacramento Kings.
Ranadivé's path to the forefront of the big-data revolution started as a boy in India, listening to the moon landing. It took him to MIT, and the founding of his company TIBCO, which is widely credited with digitizing Wall Street.
But his ambition isn't satisfied. The next step? Ranadivé wants to find predictive patterns in data. "We're sitting on a new frontier right now, where the availability of information is going to be ubiquitous. What we have to do is find the patterns and solve problems."
