Grunt With Me at the Bataan Memorial Death March

It’s the 25th anniversary of the commemorative march.
Registration is open for the 25th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March, scheduled for Sunday, March 23, 2014, at White Sands Missile Range, N.M.
Make a weekend of it and arrive on Friday, March 21, to spend some time with the dwindling pool of survivors of the horrific March in the spring of 1942 when 2,500 out of some 80,000 American and Phillipine prisoners of war were literally walked to death. Due to the passage of time, next year may well mark the last hurrah for these troops.
And due to my own passage of time, I do the wimp, 14 mile route, not the longer 26 mile slog. Next year will mark my fifth Memorial March – a good way to celebrate one of those watershed birthdays in life.
