On Feb. 2 the White House released its proposed budget for the coming fiscal year -- a $1.09 trillion plan that would increase agencies' discretionary spending by $59.4 billion.
Some increases would be bigger than others, of course. The Department of Housing and Urban Development saw the greatest percentage increase at 17.81 percent, followed by the Department of State (with other international programs) at 15.46 percent and the Department of Commerce at 11.36 percent.
Of the four agencies whose funding levels would decrease under the FY 2016 budget, the Small Business Association (-22.23 percent) and Corps of Engineers (- 14.55 percent) would see the greatest decline.
