Video: Open Data Transparency Is Just the Beginning

Hudson Hollister, the executive director of the Data Transparency Coalition, a trade organization that lobbies for open data, is trying to get the federal government to see the other benefits of open data.

Hollister specifically wants to get beyond the idea of transparency as the main benefit of open data use.

"Transparency is just the beginning . . . Frankly, I think that the impact of open data in government management and in compliance automation is either as big as, or maybe even bigger than, the transparency impact." Hollister said.
