18F's Startup-Friendly Agile BPA Hits First Hurdle -- a Protest

GSA has received multiple protests on its new contract vehicle, Nextgov confirmed.
A long-awaited contracting vehicle designed to help federal agencies buy agile development services has hit its first roadblock.
Less than a month after the General Services Administration awarded 16 companies spots on the Agile Blanket Purchase Agreement -- a pre-approved list of digital vendors -- GSA confirmed to Nextgov it has received protests in connection with the deal.
Nextgov first learned earlier this week GSA had begun sending messages to companies involved with the BPA, notifying them of the protests. Until the dispute is resolved, the contract's period of performance is suspended. At least two companies have filed protests with GSA, according to the message sent to companies awarded a spot on the BPA.
In a statement, GSA told Nextgov a "stay of performance" under the agile BPA is in a place, in connection with the protest, but "GSA is not prepared to offer further comment on the active litigation."
