HHS Begins Search for New CIO

Months after its chief information officer stepped down, the Department of Health and Human Services has initiated the search for a new CIO.

According to the USAJobs posting, the new CIO’s duties would include the implementation of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, passed in 2014; leading HHS’ information security activities; and developing a 5-year strategic plan for IT investments, among other responsibilities. 

The position will also serve as the department's senior privacy official.

The position, earning between $123,175 and $185,100 a year, opened up when former CIO Frank Baitman stepped down in November after nearly four years on the job. Job seekers have until March 5 to apply.
