Thinking global. Jenkins manages the State Department’s largest digital innovation project — modernizing the network of 450 U.S. embassy and consulate websites in 69 languages and 200 countries. Using responsive design, stakeholder input, user testing, daily sprints and open-source technology, she transformed the global infrastructure, design, security and usability of embassy websites that hadn’t been upgraded in eight years, all within budget and on time. She also advocated that those 450 websites be consolidated into 200. Her approach is strengthening the U.S. government’s ability to conduct digital public diplomacy and build relationships worldwide.
