Government Matters: Budget Cuts and Hiring Cyber Talent

With a sweeping new budget request coming from the Trump administration, many government agencies are putting some of their bigger plans on hold to prepare for large budget cuts.

At the same time, agencies are facing problems in hiring cyber talent, a challenge that occurred under the Obama administration and continues under President Donald Trump.

Nextgov's own Mohana Ravindranath sat down at a "Government Matters" roundtable to discuss these issues.

"It remains to be seen how much the administration prioritizes this, and whether the government really is able to compete with the private sector," she said. "The payout is so different between the public and private sectors. They lose people to Silicon Valley every day."
