GSA elevates Davie, makes changes at 18F

The General Services Administration's Federal Acquisition Service will see several key personnel moves in the coming weeks.

In a Sept. 18 email letter to agency employees, FAS Commissioner Alan Thomas said long-time agency acquisition expert Mary Davie has been named deputy commissioner at FAS.

Thomas also announced a number of other personnel moves at the agency.

Thomas said Davie bring almost 30 years of IT and acquisition experience to her new job. She was most recently assistant commissioner for FAS' Office of Information Technology Category, where she served for a dozen years. Before that she was with FAS' Office of Assisted Acquisition Services.

Davie begins her new job Sept. 25, according to GSA.

"Mary's depth of experience working with stakeholders across government, industry and FAS's customers is second to none. It's provided her with an excellent perspective from which to guide the organization as it moves forward," said Thomas in his letter.

Kay Ely, current director of IT Schedule Programs at the agency, will take up Davie's old position as assistant commissioner for the FAS Office of Information Technology Category. She also starts Sept. 25, according to GSA.

18F Acting Executive Director Dave Zvenyach will become acting assistant commissioner for the FAS Office of Systems Management. Deputy Executive Director of 18F Rebecca Piazza will step up to serve as acting executive director for that organization after Zvenyach leaves.

Bob Noonan, current assistant commissioner for the FAS Office of Systems Management will become acting assistant commissioner of the FAS Office of General Supplies and Services, according to Thomas.

Erv Koehler, FAS regional commissioner for the Southeast Sunbelt Region, will move into the role of assistant commissioner of the FAS Office of Customer Accounts and Stakeholder Engagement, according to the letter.

Assistant Commissioner for CASE Kim Brown will return to her previous position as FAS regional commissioner for the GSA Great Lakes Region, he said.

Zvenyach, Piazza, Noonan, Koehler and Brown all begin their new jobs on Oct. 1, according to GSA.

"The willingness of our team of civil servants to apply their individual strengths and experiences to new opportunities has FAS well-positioned to be successful long into the future."
