Tech Leaders Criticize DACA Decision

Silicon Valley is not happy about the latest decision from the Trump administration.
The Justice Department announced Tuesday that it would be ending the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program, which protected 800,000 people brought to the United States as children. Since the announcement, protests have erupted around the country with people taking to the streets.
Last week, tech industry executives, as well as other business leaders, wrote a public letter to the Trump Administration and Congress voicing their support for DACA and called for a permanent solution. Now, some prominent figures in Silicon Valley have spoken out personally on social media.
Apple CEO Tim Cook sent a tweet citing the people participating in DACA who currently work for Apple:
250 of my Apple coworkers are #Dreamers. I stand with them. They deserve our respect as equals and a solution rooted in American values.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote a lengthy post calling the decision "wrong" on his personal Facebook page decrying the move.
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, tweeted out with an urge to Congress to act:
Dreamers are our neighbors, our friends and our co-workers. This is their home. Congress needs to act now to #DefendDACA. #WithDreamers
