18F Names Acting Executive Director

The government’s innovation arm shuffles leadership roles as executive director exits.
The in-house government innovation team 18F has new leadership, as former Director of Strategy Angela Colter has taken over as acting executive director.
Colter announced the promotion on Twitter Friday, adding that Victor Udoewa would succeed her as director of strategy. Previously, Udoewa served as a senior strategist and deputy director.
An 18F spokeswoman confirmed the staff changes but declined to comment further on personnel issues.
18F was created in 2014 under the General Services Administration to act as an internal consultancy to federal agencies trying to implement new technologies and ideas.
Colter has been with 18F since February 2016, first as an innovation specialist before being named director of strategy in October 2017. Prior to that, she worked as a user-design specialist in the private sector for over a decade.
The new 18F leader takes over from Rebecca Piazza, who announced Friday it was her last week with 18F. On Twitter, Piazza said she is taking a few weeks off but would be announcing her next move shortly.
