Migration master. Marion was the primary driver behind the Air Force’s move to enterprise IT as a service and the migration of legacy applications to the cloud. The plan focuses on outsourcing business IT functions — including network and end-user services such as help desks — to streamline operations and ultimately free personnel to focus on other priorities. As a result, the Air Force has been able to reassign communications personnel to the cyber workforce. This is Marion’s second Federal 100 award. He was honored in 2015 for his contributions to unified communications while serving as CTO at the Air Force Space Command.
