Rejuvenating Social Security. Mathur is breathing new life into the 80-year-old SSA by using creative approaches to improve efficiency and secure data on over 300 million Americans. With his help, the agency has expanded its cloud capabilities, moved more transactions online, and improved decision support and fraud detection. Most recently, he oversaw SSA’s initiative to update its case-processing system for seamless, timely and accurate engagement with federal and state agencies. Mathur is also a charter member of the Technology Modernization Fund Board, where he is accelerating the effective use of technology across the executive branch.
