*** Leidos won the Navy's $7.7 billion service management, integration and transport contract – the network component of the big Next Generation Enterprise Network Recompete solicitation. This is the second of the two NGEN recompetes to be awarded, since the contract was divided into two components, one focusing on hardware and the other focusing on services. *** The House of Representatives passed the FedRAMP Authorization Act on a voice vote on Feb. 5. The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) enshrines the cloud security and authorization program into law.
*** The Army CIO/G6 has brought on a new architecture and integration director. Farhan Khan, who was previously the infrastructure operations management chief at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the chief technology officer for the Food and Drug Administration, started his new role Feb. 3. The move comes as the Army looks to boost its cloud capabilities and shortly after launching its enterprise cloud management office.
