*** The Army is advancing its enterprise-IT-as-a-service pilot program with plans to enter phase three of development by the end of the fiscal year.
Ron Pontius, deputy to the head of Army Cyber Command, said the Army was progressing the EITAAS pilots initiative that it prepped for last year using other transaction authority contracts totaling $33.5 million.
The pilots, which are at three installations -- Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas, Camp Roberts in California Fort Polk in Lousiana -- focus on connecting the Army’s portion of the Department of Defense’s Information Network (DODIN) with commercial industry offerings for foundational network services, end user services, compute and storage.
“Before the end of the fiscal year, we will move into Phase 3 of those first three things [and] begin the implementation of the capability of those three installations,” Pontius said during AFCEA International’s virtual Army Signal Conference July 14.
