Strengthening non-citizen engagement. Winship leads efforts to improve the customer experience for people seeking immigration services. In 2019, she and her team moved some of DHS’ most frequently used services online so that applicants can more easily access applications for green cards, relief assistance and other benefits. She also helped establish an online framework that enables asylum seekers to track their cases as they progress through the U.S. immigration system. Applicants can now access information in real time, and immigration officials no longer need to process and manage millions of hard-copy forms.
