Securing the supply chain. Slater advises DHS and CISA leadership, technical operators, policy advisers and program personnel on a wide range of cybersecurity matters. In 2019, he played a key role in the government’s efforts to implement the Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Act and helped draft regulations to address critical supply chain risks and increase the sharing of risk information. He also helped develop new requirements for federal agencies to report cybersecurity incidents to CISA and is involved in establishing the legal and policy mechanisms for DHS and CISA to improve coordination with the Defense Department on cybersecurity issues in defense of U.S. critical infrastructure.
