White oversees approximately 300 research and development projects on a wide array of security issues, including commercial aircraft vulnerabilities, homemade explosives and chemical detection. He led a new Traveler Verified Information Protection program, which provides integrity checking of mobile devices deployed by more than 40 agencies and is expected to save hundreds of millions of dollars annually. He also worked with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop strategies to ensure military readiness and recovery during a blackout. “There are very few people in government who have the sphere of influence that this guy has,” said David Wolf, senior vice president of Steampunk.
