Accelerating emerging tech. In 2020, Isom expedited the adoption of emerging technologies at DOE though the launch of the visionary Innovation Community Center. The platform consists of an innovation exchange, research and sandboxes for rapid prototyping, proofs of concept and pilot projects. Her team helped deliver an app in just three weeks that enabled DOE’s coronavirus response center to track and monitor cases and make informed decisions in related areas, such as return-to-work policies. Isom is also leading research in areas such as trusted artificial intelligence and has developed an AI Risk Management Playbook that addresses ways to identify and manage AI risks.
